Temple Hill Entertainment and screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber worked together on Fox’s YA adaptation of Green’s novel Fault in Our Stars, which became a huge hit in 2014. Then Temple Hill producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen got back together with Neustadter and Weber to work on Fox 2000’s adaptation of Green’s Paper Towns, which will hit theaters this summer.
And now, the writing duo and Temple Hill have signed on to Paramount’s adaptation of Green’s first novel, Looking for Alaska.
Neustadter and Weber will write the screenplay for the film, which centers on a teen named Miles who goes to boarding school for his junior year. There, he meets a enigmatic student named Alaska and begins to fall for her.
Temple Hill will produce with Mark Waters and Jessica Tuchinsky via their Watermark Pictures banner. Neustadter and Weber will executive produce.
Fault in Our Stars, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, earned a stunning $305.2 million worldwide. Fans of Green’s novel praised the adaptation for staying loyal to the book and for allowing Green to be closely involved with the adaptation. Green seems to have created a strong bond with Neustadter, Weber and Temple Hill because soon after Fault‘s release, they reteamed for Paper Towns. Starring Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne, Paper Towns will hit theaters on June 5.

Green’s debut novel Looking for Alaska hit shelves in 2005 and went on to win the Michael L. Printz Award in 2006. Paramount scooped up the rights in 2005, but the studio waited to move forward on the project until after Fault became a massive success.
Neustadter and Weber, who previously wrote the script for The Spectacular Now and 500 Days of Summer, have become a go-to writing duo in Hollywood for adaptations of hot books. They’re penning the script for Where’d You Go, Bernadette, which will likely be directed by Richard Linklater, and MGM and New Line’s adaptation of Me Before You. They’re repped by CAA, Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment and attorney Sean Marks.
Temple Hill, along with producing Green’s Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns, also produced The Maze Runner (and its upcoming sequel The Scorch Trials) and the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation, The Longest Ride, hitting theaters on April 10.
