Karl Lagerfeld‘s first ever Fendi haute couture show, which he dubbed a haute fourrure or “high fur” show, was quite the spectacle — in more ways than one. A mob of protesters from the animal rights activist group the Brigitte Bardot Foundation held signs reading, “Fur: Stop toruture” and “Fendied” outside of the Theatre de Champs Elysees in Paris on Wednesday as guests tried to enter the show. The group of roughly 20 protestors were led away from the entrance by police, and the show went on. [CNBC]
Skechers may not be the first brand that comes to mind when you think of fashion-forward shoes, but that didn’t stop Steve Madden from allegedly taking rather liberal inspiration from their designs. Skechers USA Inc. is suing Steve Madden Ltd. for reportedly infringing on their Go Walk designs with their Setta style from the Steven by Steve Madden collection. The plaintiff is requesting a jury trial and seeking compensatory and punitive damages. [WWD]

Today, WWD announced that editorial director Mikki Halpin, who took on the the job last year and whose background is primarily in fashion and fashion news, will be leaving the company.
