The exhibit, which opens July 22, is free to the public and features over 100 costumes from more than 20 TV shows, including OITNB (by costume designer Jennifer Rogien), True Detective (Jenny Eagan), Masters of Sex (Ane Crabtree), Salem (Joseph A. Porro) and American Horror Story: Coven (Lou Eyrich, nominated for an Emmy), to name a few.
Organized by costume designer and curator Mary Rose, former president of the Costume Designers Guild, this year’s display features one particular show that she felt was important to include.
“I wanted to have Parenthood so much. It’s one of the best family shows, but it’s very low-rated,” Rose told Pret-a-Reporter at the exhibit’s opening reception Saturday. “I think what we’re trying to do is put out more serious matter [on TV] and we can illustrate that with costume, which comes down to contemporary costumes.”

The eighth annual exhibit runs through Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 5p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Docent-led tours are available for $20 per person for groups of 10 to 25 from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment only.
