Food Network is continuing its relationship with Mystery Diners.
The network has ordered 26 more episodes of the series, which follows restaurant owners who call in help when they suspect their employees are not doing their jobs, whether it be stealing, lying, mistreating customers or doing mediocre work.
The “mystery diners” create an undercover sting in the restaurant, utilizing carefully placed hidden cameras to perform surveillance and find out what’s going on when the boss isn’t around.
Production has begun on the new episodes, which will launch in 2014.
“The show is a great way to apply the hidden-camera format,” said Jenny Daly, president of T Group Productions. “We all enjoy going out to eat, so as viewers we’re just as invested and shocked as the owner when the drama of the sting unfolds.”
Mystery Diners is executive produced by Daly and Peter Cohen.
The series wraps its current season Oct. 9.
