Roma Khanna has begun to form her television team at MGM Television Group, adding four executives.
Vicky Gregorian has been tapped senior vp domestic television distribution; Susan Hummel has been upped to senior vp U.S. basic cable and Canada television; Damien Marin will serve as senior vp pay television and digital media; and Vinicio Espinosa has boarded as vp Latin American Television Distribution.
“These new appointments are a key part of our strategy to grow our television business globally,” Khanna said in a statement announcing the news Monday. “I am so pleased to see such a strong executive team assembling.”
Gregorian will oversee sales of MGM Television’s syndicated product, including feature film packages, Stargate Universe, Outer Limits and third-party acquisition sales. She was senior vp domestic distribution at Litton Entertainment.
Hummel will be charged with all Canadian television distribution, including pay, digital, free and basic, in addition to the sale of MGM television properties to U.S. basic cable operators. She was senior vp North American television distribution and vp Canadian television distribution at MGM.
Marin will continue oversight of the on demand and digital media distribution while also taking on the studio’s domestic pay television sales in his new role. He was vp worldwide on demand and digital media at MGM.
Espinosa will oversee television efforts in Latin America with a focus on expanding the studio’s presence in the region. He rejoins MGM from Corisco Films, a Brazilian motion picture production company where he was COO.
Gregorian, Hummel and Marin report to MGM president of domestic television distribution John Bryan. Espinosa reports to MGM president of international television distribution and acquisitions Chris Ottinger.
Khanna was named president of MGM Television Group and Digital in June, reporting to MGM co-chairmen and CEOs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum. The appointments help fill the void left by the departure of Gary Marenzi, MGM’s top international television executive, who left in June after four years.
