The No. 1 cable news channel has been tweaking its lineup of political analysts for a few months, recently ditching Dick Morris, for example, while hiring former Republican Sen. Scott Brown and comedian Adam Carolla, who has assumed a role similar to that of talk-radio host Dennis Miller, also a contributor at the network. Fox News also recently re-signed Republican strategist Karl Rove.

Cain, a brief front-runner for the Republican nomination for president, is no stranger to Fox News, where he has appeared dozens of times during the past couple of years. He also shows up occasionally on Fox News personality Sean Hannity’s radio show.
A favorite among conservative Tea Party types, Cain’s candidacy largely was derailed in November 2011 by allegations of sexual misconduct, detailed in a press conference starring attorney Gloria Allred.
Cain rose to prominence as a successful businessman, eventually becoming CEO of the National Restaurant Association. He first ran for office in 2000, briefly becoming a challenger for the Republican nomination for president; he ran for senator in Georgia four years later and also lost. More recently, he was a talk-radio host.
“Cain’s impressive resume makes him a valuable addition to the Fox News and Fox Business lineup,” said programming executive vp Bill Shine. “As a political expert with business savvy, he brings an important voice to the nation’s debate.”
