Fox has dated BBC’s CGI/live-action Walking With Dinosaurs for release on Dec. 20, 2013.
Marking one of the biggest American Film Market deals in recent times, Fox picked up domestic and key territory rights to the $65 million family adventure from Stuart Ford’s IM Global last November.
Walking With Dionsaurs, directed by Neil Nightingale and Pierre De Lespinios, is based on the popular BBC series created by Tim Haines. The pic will transport families to prehistoric times, where an underdog dinosaur triumphs to become a hero for the ages.
BBC Earth, Evergreen Films and IM Global parent company Reliance Entertainment backed the production.
In addition to the U.S., Fox nabbed rights for the U.K., France, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Latin America, among other territories.
