It may be a French brand, but Dior was dominated by Italians during its intimate dinner to celebrate the Marrakech International Film Festival, which ran Dec. 5-13.
Francis Ford Coppola served as both jury president and papa to Sofia — who was in Marrakech to present Bill Murray with a career honor — during the week, and then cooked up his secret spaghetti a la tomate et basilic recipe for a hundred guests on Friday evening.

As if he didn’t have enough on his plate, Coppola also volunteered to be chef for the swanky private dinner in the city’s elite Royal Mansour hotel.
Guests including Dior president Sidney Toledano and Marrakech Film Festival grande dame Melita Toscan du Plantier gave the chef a standing ovation when the pasta was presented.
Not to be outdone, fellow jurors Sergio Castellitto and his wife, Margaret Mazzantini, whipped up a white truffle risotto. Italian actresses Valeria Golino and Valeria Tedeschi-Bruni (sister of model and former French first lady Carla) mingled in-between bites.
Jurors including directors Anton Corbijn and Naomi Kawase and actresses Richa Chadha and Amal Ayouch swapped vegetarian recipes at the table before discussing afterparty plans. Not long after, it was time to dance.
