French broadcaster M6 has renewed its multi-year agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. With the agreement, M6 has acquired exclusive basic and free-to-air rights for undisclosed selections from the studio’s current slate of series and films, as well as access to their library. The programming will air across multiple channels, including W9, 6Ter, Paris Premiere, Teva, Serie Club and TF6.
“France is a very important territory for us, and M6 has continued to be a strong partner since the days we brought them their first American feature film Speed, and hit television series such as Prison Break,” said Gerard Grant, svp of Twentieth’s International TV division in a joint statement. “We are committed to continuing to deliver our very best content to French viewers and aim to keep M6 audiences entertained with quality TV series and hit feature films in the years to come.”
“All the channels of the the M6 Group are very pleased with this extended partnership with Twentieth Century Fox as this partnership perfectly matches our commitment to bring only high quality programs to our audience,” added M6 head of acquisitions Bernard Majani.
The deal specifically secures rights to the Kiefer Sutherland series Touch, which has aired one season stateside. A decision on a second season is expected before upfronts in May.
