One day after Fringe held its last Television Critics Assn. summer press tour panel, production has been shut down for the rest of the week, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The news comes as filming on the fifth and final season commenced just several days ago in Canada and after Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick and showrunner J.H. Wyman fielded questions from reporters on Monday at TCA.
The temporary shutdown, which affects Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, is being looked at as a matter of convenience: John Noble, who was expected to appear at TCA, is under the weather, as well as Blair Brown, who did not participate at Comic-Con as originally scheduled. Co-star Jasika Nicole was also recently in a fender bender.
A source with knowledge of the situation told THR that a production restart is being eyed for early next week.
Fringe‘s final season begins Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
