Miles Teller is starring as the five-time world champion boxer “Vinny Paz,” who was injured in a near-fatal car crash at the peak of his career that left him with a broken neck. Not knowing if he’d ever walk again, he made an incredible comeback, and after months of recovery and against doctors’ orders, Paz went back to the gym under the guidance of infamous trainer Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart) and made a triumphant return to the ring just over a year later.
Hinds will play the boxer’s father, Angelo.
Ben Younger (2005’s Prime) is writing and directing Bleed for This, which is executive produced by Martin Scorsese. Younger is also producing with Bruce Cohen, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Noah Kraft and Chad A. Verdi, and Joshua Sason is also executive producing.
Magna Entertainment is financing Bleed for This, and CAA, which packaged the project, is repping domestic distribution rights with WME.
On Game of Thrones, Hinds plays Mance Rayder, the former Night’s Watch ranger who is now the leader of the wildlings. He’ll next be seen in Fox’s agent spy film Agent 47 and indie Last Days in the Desert, starring Ewan McGregor. Also appearing on the stage at Dublin’s Abbey Theatre starring in Our Few and Evil Days, Hinds is repped by CAA and Dalzell and Beresford in the U.K.
