LONDON – Fantasy drama Game of Thrones will take on French sci-fi thriller The Returned and TV documentary Storyville: Pussy Riot in the best international show category at the U.K.’s Royal Television Society Awards.
Held annually, the RTS awards aim to recognize the work of exceptional actors, presenters, writers and production teams, as well as celebrating the programs themselves.

In the best drama serial category, ITV’s Broadchurch, starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman, is nominated along with the BBC’s zombie drama In the Flesh and Jane Campion‘s Top of the Lake.
Colman’s turn in Broadchurch and Run has earned her a best female actor nomination, where she will vie with fellow Broadchurch cast member Jodie Whittaker and My Mad Fat Teenage Diary‘s Sharon Rooney.
In the best male actor category, the nominees are Idris Elba for his turn in Luther, Lennie James for his outing in London drug drama Run and Stephen Dillane for his performance in French-British co-production The Tunnel.
The RTS is the oldest TV society in the world and is chaired by David Liddiment.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by British comedian and actor Tim Vine. It will be held in central London on March 18.
