If you’re even thinking of showing up for a party hosted by E! Fashion Police’s Joan and Melissa Rivers, you’d better be at the top of your style game. And that’s exactly what happened on Monday night, when an intimate group of fashion-forward friends, including Maria Arena Bell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Linda Ramone and Cameron Silver, turned out to celebrate the debut of stylist George Kotsiopoulos’s book, Glamorous by George: The Key to Creating Movie Star Style.

Melissa’s ornate Pacific Palisades home served as the backdrop for the soiree — recognizable as the set for her mother-daughter show on WE tv, Joan & Melissa. “The paintings are all fake,” noted Joan of the home-turned-TV backdrop, who, well-versed in the art of glamour herself, was eager to support the newly minted author and Fashion Police co-host. “Nobody believes it but we’re really family,” she said of the team. We’re really a happy show. Nobody hates each other.”
Sporting a vintage Bill Blass jacket updated with fur cuffs, Rivers also spilled her own top tip for looking glamorous. “A good tailor!” she said, only to lament, “I have a good Russian lady but she keeps going back to Russia to get herself done for free.”
Dressed in Burberry Prorsum and Marc Jacobs shoes while presiding over a table piled high with his new tome, Kotsiopolous dished on the inspiration for his latest project.
“One of the things that we talk about on Fashion Police is, we say, ‘They look fabulous, they look like a movie star.’ Then I started thinking, well, what does that mean? Movie stars don’t really exist anymore,” he explained, citing today’s obsession with reality stars. As a result, Kotsiopoulos dedicated his first book to achieving the art of movie star-glamour in every aspect of life, from fashion to makeup, decor, and modern etiquette. “It’s all about presenting yourself in a glamorous way,” he added.

Fresh from her E! hosting gig on the Golden Globes red carpet, lavender-locked Kelly Osbourne also swung by in a show of support her Fashion Police co-star.
“My feet have no feeling at this point” she said when asked how she was still standing — and perfectly primped in a turquoise Tory Burch sweater paired with a sweet skirt and heels — after dominating the red carpet for her E! Golden Globes pre-show hosting gig one day prior.
Sacrifices in the name of fashion? Now that’s glamorous.
