Courtesy of Karla OttoGiambattista Valli went full frontal flower Monday night, projecting a facade of roses onto the Paris Opera in honor of his beauty collaboration with MAC. The historic building was made over to look like a giant bouquet, matched inside by a stunning wall of roses suspended above the grand staircase. Valli’s lip colors were all inspired by his glam gal pals like Italian socialite Bianca Brandolini (a pale pink) and Princess Charlotte Casiraghi (a deep red).
“It’s the attitude of all the girls that I love. I get inspired at the real women around me,” Valli said. The ball at the Palais Garnier was also an anniversary celebration of sorts for Valli and MAC; the latter has been doing backstage beauty at the former’s shows for a decade. “This is a way for us to celebrate our 10 years together.”

The designer declared his need for a holiday after the morning’s triumphant couture show and the evening’s ball, sharing that he’ll be spending some time off on the Amalfi coast. But he noted the constant churn of the current fashion calendar: “I’m already getting ready for Giambattista Valli in September. It’s one after the other one.”
Jessica Alba made the trip to Paris with pal Kelly Sawyer, the creative director of L.A.’s Satine boutique. “It’s like the most fun girl’s trip ever. And this is in my industry,” said Alba, who recently announced that The Honest Company will be launching a beauty line this fall. “Which makes it even more fun.”
Olivia Palermo, who just launched a line of nail colors with Ciaté London at Sephora with plans to expand into a wider beauty line in the fall, extolled the power of products. “Beauty is equally important as an accessory as anything else, because if you have your face done, it can be just an eye or a lip but it makes the entire look,” said the front-row regular, who keeps sane during fashion week by limiting parties and catching a local workout class or relaxing in a favorite cafe from her college days in the city.

With a roomful of gowns, and at least three dozen floral crowns spotted, Marie Antoinette wouldn’t have felt out of place. But it may be the only time Madonna and Beyonce play – courtesey of DJ Mark Ronson – the Paris Opera.
