If there’s one thing we know about Gigi Hadid — aside from being a runway pro and designer — the supe knows how to throw a mean punch (or elbow, when needed). And Reebok is taking notice.
The athletic company company announced Tuesday it has tapped the 21-year-old to front its #PerfectNever campaign. Hadid also confirmed the news on her Instagram account, which has more than 23 million followers.
“‘Perfect’ never exceeds expectation. It doesn’t allow us to reach our full potential. May we be confident and have love for who we are, but, in all that we are passionate about, may we always remember that Good is the enemy of GREAT,” captioned the model. “Don’t settle. I’m so honored to join a campaign that’s committed to pushing these boundaries for women.”
The campaign couldn’t come at a more appropriate time for Hadid, who practiced self defense when attacked by celebrity prankster Vitalii Sediuk during Milan Fashion Week. “If anything, I want girls to see the video and know that they have the right to fight back, too, if put in a similar situation,” Hadid told Lena Dunham for Lenny Letter last week.
Hadid is the latest model to score a campaign with an athletic brand. Cara Delevingne was recently named the new face of Puma’s “Do You” campaign.
Given Hadid’s social media influence and ability to boost sales, don’t be surprised if she helps increase Reebok’s visibility and numbers, too.
