The mega-Brentwood home has been a hush-hush project on the design circuit for years, and Wednesday marks the first official peek inside its low-key, high-end design, where lots of eco-friendly elements are contained within the 22,000-square-foot home.
Sustainable sprawl?
“I like simplicity and coziness,” says the Brazilian model in the Architectural Digest feature. “We grow 85 percent of our fruits and vegetables,” maintains Bunchen, who goes on to say that the house uses a gray water system, extensive solar panels and that “90 percent of the materials used to construct our house were reclaimed.”

Architect Richard Landry, of Landry Design Group — whose clients include Mark Wahlberg, Rod Stewart and Wayne Gretzky — designed the mansion, with its koi-stocked moat, professional-grade kitchen and Out-Fit–designed gym, complete with custom-made wrought-iron monkey bars. (The couple has a 3-year-old son, Benjamin, and an infant daughter, Vivian Lake, along with 6-year-old John, Brady’s son from his previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.)
Joan Behnke — whose clients include Thomas Barrack, the billionaire founder of Colony Capital, and private equity billionaire Alec Gores — designed the neutral-toned, richly textured interiors.
