The 15th annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by Starz Entertainment, will honor veteran actress Glenn Close with its 2011 Hollywood Career Achievement Award.
EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood Film Awards Honorees Announced (Exclusive)
Close, who made her big-screen debut 29 years ago, has since earned five Oscar nominations — for The World According to Garp (1982), The Big Chill (1983), The Natural (1984), Fatal Attraction (1987), and Dangerous Liaisons (1988) — and starred in numerous popular films, including Reversal of Fortune (1990) and 101 Dalmatians (1996).
The 64-year-old is widely regarded as a leading contender for this year’s best actress Oscar thanks to her memorable turn as a cross-dressing butler in Rodrigo Garcia‘s Albert Nobbs, which she spent decades trying to bring to fruition and which premiered at September’s Telluride Film Festival.
