God’s Not Dead 2 has secured its release date.
Two years after the March 2014 release of God’s Not Dead, which grossed $60.7 million, the sequel will hit theaters on April 1, 2016.
The Pureflix film centers on a Christian public school teacher (Melissa Joan Hart) who appears in court before a jury and judge for answering a a student’s question about the similarities of the teachings of Jesus to those of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi.
Fellow castmembers include Jesse Metcalfe, David A. R. White, Hayley Orrantia, Ernie Hudson, Duck Dynasty‘s Sadie Robertson, Robin Givens, Maria Canals-Barrera and the late Fred Thompson, Pat Boone, Ray Wise, Trisha LaFache, Benjamin Onyango, Paul Kwo and The Newsboys bandmembers.
