Gina Rodriguez took home the Golden Globe award for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy, for her performance in Jane the Virgin on Sunday night.
The actress was nominated alongside Veep‘s Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nurse Jackie‘s Edie Falco, Girls‘ Lena Dunham and Orange Is the New Black‘s Taylor Schilling.
“This award is so much more than myself,” Rodriguez said. “It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes.”
