George Clooney used his acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes to address the recent terrorist attack in Paris, saying, “We will not walk in fear.”
Clooney, 53, referenced the demonstrations in response to the attack on Charlie Hebdo, saying the tragedy united people of all religions under this one empowering message.

Earlier in the evening, Clooney was seen wearing a “Je suis Charlie” pin.
Clooney also referenced the Sony hack, saying the Globes offered famous people a chance to apologize to one another in person for all the “snarky things we said about each other” via email.
Clooney ‘s wife, Amal, also got some love, with the actor telling her from the stage: “I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”
The Cecil B. DeMille Award was presented by Clooney’s Ocean’s Eleven co-star Don Cheadle and his former ER co-star Julianna Margulies.
During the presentation speech, Cheadle noted that Clooney has been nominated in more Golden Globe categories than anyone in history.
The last recipient of the honorary award, given out for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment,” was Woody Allen. Other recent recipients include Jodie Foster, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.
