Goldie Hawn is in early talks to play Amy Schumer’s mother in Fox’s untitled comedy that will be directed by Jonathan Levine.

The movie, which will be Schumer’s first since her hit Trainwreck, is an action-comedy in the vein of Paul Feig’s The Heat and centers on a mother-daughter duo trapped in a vacation gone wrong.

Schumer did a pass on the script with her sister, Kim Caramele. Katie Dippold, who wrote the original draft, is writing and exec producing. Paul Feig and Chernin Entertainment are producing.

Hawn has the offer and is in early talks to play the mother. Sally Field and Frances McDormand were other names on the list for the part, but for various reasons never stuck.

Whether or not a deal can be made with Hawn remains to be seen, but this could be a return to the big-screen for Hawn in a major way.

The actress, who was a comedic star in the late 1970s and early 1980s with movies such as Private Benjamin, has not been in a movie since 2002’s The Banger Sisters
