The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles this morning unveiled its eclectic 2014 lineup, with Rodriguez, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jake Owen, Joan Baez, Tori Amos, ZZ Top, New Order, Sarah McLachlan and Smokey Robinson among the acts set to perform under the stars at the legendary Griffith Park venue.
The Greek, operated and managed by Nederlander Concerts, also has launched its own subscription program, Premier Access Season Subscription (P.A.S.S.). Members can create their own concert series and receive exclusive amenities without membership fees.
Greek mainstays Los Lobos and Ringo Starr, with his All Starr Band, also are on the busy 2014 schedule, as are David Byrne, Los Feliz’s own The Airborne Toxic Event, The Neighbourhood, Dierks Bentley, Panic! at the Disco and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Doo-wop stars Under the Streetlamp will kick things off May 2. Tedeschi Trucks Band, the 11-member outfit fronted by slide superhero Derek Trucks and his wife, blues vocalist Susan Tedeschi, will co-headline with guitar virtuoso Gary Clark Jr. on Nov. 1 to conclude the campaign.
Bryne, the former Talking Heads frontman, will take the stage May 8 with members of LCD Soundsystem and other bands for a tribute to William Onyeabor, the Nigerian funk singer and synthesizer pioneer.
On the heels of her 14th studio release, Amos is on the bill July 23 as part of her Unrepentant Geraldines tour.

Under the P.A.S.S. plan, members (one must buy tickets to at least three shows to join) also have the opportunity to purchase tickets to Steve Winwood at the Pantages (June 24) and Boston with Cheap Trick at the Forum (July 29), plus four shows at the City National Grove of Anaheim: comic Lisa Lampanelli (Aug. 15); Rock n Blues Fest featuring Johnny Winter Band, Edgar Winter Band, Vanilla Fudge, Peter Rivera and Savoy Brown’s Kim Simmonds (Aug. 22); Air Supply (Nov. 8); and Anjelah Johnson (Nov. 14). The Pantages and the Grove are sister Nederlander properties.
The 5,900-seat Greek had partnered in a subscription program since 2002 with the Universal/Gibson Amphitheatre, now gone to make way for a Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios. It recently was named by Pollstar magazine as the “Best Small Outdoor Venue of the Year” for the 10th straight time.
