The British Academy has officially rescinded the membership of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
“Following the suspension of Harvey Weinstein’s BAFTA membership in October 2017, BAFTA has formally terminated his membership, effective immediately,” it said in a statement made Friday. “The termination is the result of a process laid out in BAFTA’s constitution.”
BAFTA was one of the first organizations to suspend Weinstein in the wake of sexual assault allegations that erupted last year, with the British Film Institute later revoking his BFI Fellowship honor.
British police are investigating several accusations made against Weinstein in London over a period dating back more than two decades.
