Here Comes Honey Boo Boo patriarch Mike Thompson — aka “Sugar Bear” — was recently hospitalized following an ATV accident.
The reality star had to have surgery over a small infection that, according to E! News, was the result of a “mud-boggin” crash.

As viewers of the TLC reality show know, one of the Thompson family’s favorite pastimes is hopping on four-wheelers and driving them around in the mud — also known as “mud-boggin’.”
News of his hospitalization comes the same day that TLC announced it had ordered more episodes of its hit reality show, a spinoff of Toddlers & Tiaras, as well as holiday specials timed to Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The hourlong season finale airs at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
