Comedy legend Jerry Lewis turned 91 years old on Thursday and so far, the birthday festivities have been “wonderful.”
That’s the word Lewis used to describe the show he saw on Wednesday night — the “original must-see” Mystère by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Backstage, Lewis, accompanied by his wife, daughter and several close friends, enjoyed a private meet-and-greet with Cirque legend Brian Dewhurst, who plays fan-fave clown “Brian Le Petit.”
A source tells The Hollywood Reporter that Lewis loved the show and had a good time during an impromptu photo op, putting on a red nose to pose with Dewhurst. The outing was preceded by a private birthday dinner for Lewis’ clan at Phil’s Italian Steakhouse located inside Treasure Island. The group ordered up shrimp cocktail, veal osso bucco, duck bucatini and risotto aragosta, among other items.

The show — the longest-running Cirque show in Las Vegas, following its debut on Dec. 25, 1993 — has been a Treasure Island mainstay for almost 25 years. Lewis follows a long line of celeb guests who have checked out Mystère, including Beyonce and Jay Z, Heidi Klum, Gordon Ramsay, Steven Tyler and the band Imagine Dragons.
It’s unclear how Lewis is spending his actual birthday, but it’s a safe bet that he’s having more fun that he did during this THR interview.
