One of the most memorable sequences in Damien Chazelle‘s La La Land, the original musical that scored a record-tying 14 Oscar nominations last month, is the somewhat surreal, Gatsby-esque “Someone in the Crowd” party sequence that comes early in the film and displays a remarkable combination of beautiful choreography, production design, cinematography, film editing and music.
