Viacom’s MTV International is expanding its popular Shores franchise with Ibiza Shore, which will bring together castmembers from Shores shows from various countries.
The Ibiza Shore cast will include faces from Spain’s Gandia Shore and Mexico’s Acapulco Shore, “plus additional surprise arrivals from Italy and Brazil,” MTV International said.
Production on the first-ever co-production between MTV Latin America and MTV South Europe is set to begin in August, with the iconic Mediterranean island providing the backdrop of sea, sun and partying.
“We are very excited to announce that we are taking the Shores franchise to the next level. Ibiza is one of the most amazing, iconic summer destinations in the world and we’re thrilled that we can have our cast enjoy the island,” said Laura Abril, vp youth and music brands for VIMN South Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“Everyone knows Ibiza is one of the party capitals of the world, so we can’t wait to see what happens with this unique mix of characters, personalities and cultures,” said Tiago Worcman, senior vp music brands for VIMN Americas.
Ibiza Shore will be produced by Magnolia TV.
The international editions of MTV’s Shores franchise also include Geordie Shore in the U.K. and Warsaw Shore in Poland. They are all based on the original U.S. hit series Jersey Shore.
