Bruno Mars became the fourth recipient of the Innovation Award at the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday night.
After being introduced by fellow iHeartRadio nominee Big Sean, Mars took the stage to perform “Treasure” and “That’s What I Like,” before accepting his award and thanking his band.
“We used to play in bars not too far from here and now you see [us] at the Super Bowl,” Mars said.
The 2017 Innovator has had 36 Hot 100 hits and had his first two albums become certified platinum over 94 times. The pop star joins a list of recipients that includes musical legends U2, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams.
