Insecure star Yvonne Orji has signed with UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. She was previously with CAA.
The actress plays Molly, creator Issa Rae’s best friend, on the acclaimed HBO comedy, whose second season premieres July 23.
In May, Orji performed the opening stand-up set for Chris Rock’s Total Black Out tour in Atlanta. She is also developing First Gen, a semi-autobiographical TV comedy about a girl whose strict Nigerian mother discovers she has traded medical school for a stand-up comedy career. Oprah Winfrey and David Oyelowo are executive producing.
