This story first appeared in the March 27 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
The Hollywood Reporter rounded up seven of the must-follow Instagram accounts in the industry.
JOHN SINGLETON, @realjohnsingleton
“I rarely post anything personal,” says the 47-year-old filmmaker. “I use IG mostly to profile my interests, business and lifestyle-wise.” Still, you can learn a few details. Singleton likes to go shirtless (especially at sea), take selfies with Denzel Washington and hang out with Marilyn Manson.
ELI ROTH, @realeliroth
“It’s fun, and it fits my personality,” says the 42-year-old actor and horror director (Hostel, The Green Inferno). He uses the platform to drum up interest in new projects such as Knock Knock, his upcoming film starring Keanu Reeves, but his true passion is posting video of his bulldog, Monkey. “She’s really funny.”
JENNI KONNER, @campsucks
Girls‘ executive producer, 43, has at least one very well-known follower: Girls‘ creator and star Lena Dunham. “Jenni’s feed is my ideal mix of fitness, food, fashion and sight gags,” says Dunham (above), who pops up a lot in Konner’s feed, usually in various states of undress. Says Konner of Instagram, “It’s a way nicer place than Twitter.”
WILL PACKER, @willpowerpacker
“Social media is my bedrock, my grass-roots connection to my audience,” says the 40-year-old Wedding Ringer producer, who posted the above pic with the cast of Think Like a Man Too. “Celebrity used to be about mystery — not knowing what stars were doing — but now celebrity is about knowing everything.”
BRIAN GRAZER, @briangrazer
Sure, there are lots of pics of the superproducer rubbing elbows with such stars as Mick Jagger and other celebs, but Grazer, 63, takes his followers waaay behind the scenes — even into his mouth during a dental procedure. “If there’s a moment that is shocking and I can get it on film, I take the picture and post it,” he says.
JUDD APATOW, @juddapatow
What is it with famous Instagrammers and dentist offices? At least that’s where the 47-year-old filmmaker appears to be in this pic (although why he’s wearing a shark’s head is anybody’s guess). But Apatow’s best posts are from his TBT collection, including a shot of himself passed out drunk on a sofa while in college.

GREG BERLANTI, @gberlanti
Some recent highlights from the 42-year-old producer’s feed: backstage at the Oscars, pics of Oprah and behind the scenes at The Flash (with a puppet that looks like actor Grant Gustin). Says Berlanti, “I love using Instagram — it forces me to stop and capture some of the moments I’ve been so lucky to experience.”
