In the eyes of the public, there was only one best-dressed woman at the 2016 Met Gala — and surprisingly, it wasn’t Beyonce.
The Internet has spoken, and it has chosen Claire Danes as the unofficial queen of fashion’s biggest evening. In an unprecedented turn of events, it appears that no one on Twitter had anything malicious to say about the Homeland star’s light-up Zac Posen ball gown.
Celestial grandeur. Illuminating ballgown. Guess who? #metgala #zacposen #glamour

A search of the actress’ name found only positive comments from fans who spent their time devouring look after look from the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”-themed ball. Though she may not have hit all the best-dressed lists curated by fashion editors, it appears the general population believed she was not only the most on-theme attendee but also found her Cinderella-esque gown downright enchanting.
Claire Danes in Zac Posen was by far the best dressed at the #MetGala

I’m sorry but the #MetGala outfits/dresses/whatever are just ridiculous…
Except for Claire Danes of course

I don’t think I’ve ever been in love with a dress as much as Claire Danes’ tonight it’s breathtaking

Ok, not everyone was 100 percent in love with Danes’ look. But still, if this is the worst the Internet had to say, then we’d still call that a win for humanity:
Shout out to ugly cry face Claire Danes for being on theme while also being fucking boring.
