Pascal Le Segretain/Getty ImagesIon Television on Monday unveiled a deal with Entertainment One for Private Eyes, starring Jason Priestley as a former pro hockey player-turned-detective.
Private Eyes, set in Toronto, sees Priestley play Matt Shade, who teams up with fierce P.I. Angie Everett (Cindy Sampson) to form an unlikely investigation agency. The deal follows another eOne series, Saving Hope, starring Erica Durance, ending a five-year run on Ion.
“We are thrilled to continue what has become a very fruitful relationship with eOne by bringing our audience this exciting new original program,” Brandon Burgess, chairman and CEO of Ion Media Networks, said in a statement. Private Eyes lands on Ion as its exclusive U.S. home after first airing in the UK, on Universal Channel, and in Canada, Italy, Spain and Belgium.
Ion also broadcast previous Canadian shows like The Listener, which debuted on NBC. Created by Shelley Eriksen and Tim Kilby, Private Eyes is produced by eOne.
The series is executive produced by John Morayniss and Tecca Crosby for eOne, Shawn Piller and Lloyd Segan for Piller/Segan, Priestley, Alan McCullough, James Thorpe and Tassie Cameron. McCullough and Piller are also showrunners.
