Jack Black stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday to premiere the trailer for his upcoming Goosebumps film, but the actor also took a minute to remember Jerry Weintraub, who died on Monday and executive produced Black’s HBO series The Brink.
“Such a sweet, amazing giant of a man, and so filled with joy and creativity and just happy to have known him for the short time that I did,” Black said of Weintraub. “He did an amazing job setting up this show, The Brink, and I’m really going to miss him.”

GMA co-host George Stephanopoulos added, “He would come on the show all the time and he was just a force of nature.”
In Goosebumps, which hits theaters on Oct. 16, Black plays R.L. Stine, the author of the famous book series, who in the movie teams up with a group of kids after they accidentally unleash every monster he’s ever created.

“The movie turned out dynamite. I’m so excited,” Black said. “The books are really funny and scary and exciting, and we just wanted the movie to be as awesome and cool as the book series was and I think we cracked the code.”
