Jacob Tremblay may only be 9 years old, but he’s already an expert on the Oscar race.
The young Room actor failed to land a nomination for his role in the film about a young woman (Brie Larson) and her son being held captive in a small enclosure and he knows who’s to blame: Sylvester Stallone.
Tremblay revealed to Ryan Seacrest on E!’s red-carpet preshow that his memorable Instagram photo of him pretending to punch Rocky Balboa was him jokingly dishing out some revenge for the Creed star taking his supporting actor nomination.
“I punched him in the face because he took my spot in the best supporting [actor category],” Tremblay joked.
Tremblay also told Seacrest, who knelt down to get on his level as the two talked on the Oscars’ red carpet, what his perspective was on the stars arriving to the big show.
“I just see lots of legs,” Tremblay said, prompting a big laugh from Seacrest. “That’s my perspective.”
He also shared his predictions for the Oscars. Not surprisingly, he’s rooting for Room‘s nominees, specifically best-actress contender Larson, best-director hopeful Lenny Abrahamson and best-adapted-screenplay contender Emma Donoghue. Room is also nominated for best picture.
Tremblay told Seacrest last year he rooted for Eddie Redmayne, who won best actor for his role in The Theory of Everything.
