Chill teenager Jaden Smith — trendsetting offspring of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith— cannot be bothered with gender norms.
The 16-year-old eschewed typical gendered dressing by stepping out in Calabasas, Calif., on Coachella Eve (Thursday night) in a black sweater dress layered under a white mesh tank top. The fashion-forward youth accessorized with a pouch pendant necklace, leather backpack and leopard-print tube socks.

Smith foreshadowed his daring ensemble by posting a photo on Instagram on April 7 with the caption, “Went To TopShop To Buy Some Girl Clothes, I Mean ‘Clothes.’ ” We see what you did there, Jaden.
Unfortunately, Smith wasn’t quite accustomed to the “swerve”-related complications that can sometimes accompany dress-wearing, tweeting, “That Moment When Your Wearing A Dress With No Pants And You Swerve Way To Hard.” The ultimate struggle.

Smith’s affinity for out-of-the-ordinary dressing is no secret. In an interview with Billboard earlier this year, the teen admitted, “I just try to innovate [my fashion] and do things that people have never seen before and say things that people have never heard before.” Mission accomplished.
