CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday morning made headlines of his own after he cut off White House senior policy advisor Stephen Miller during a contentious interview.
The two men went back and forth, as Tapper, host of State of the Union, tried to discuss with Miller President Donald Trump’s fitness for office, which was called into question in Michael Wolff’s new tell-all book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.
Miller, trying to get off the topic, told Tapper he was booked on his show to discuss other issues, but the host wasn’t asking about those because “they’re not interesting facts to you.”
Tapper responded, “I have plenty of questions on immigration — you’ve attempted to filibuster by talking about your flights with the president.”
“Don’t be condescending, Jake,” Miller shot back, going on to talk about how amazing, in his opinion, Trump is as president.
Finally, having enough, Tapper said, “I get it — there is one viewer that you care about right now and you’re being obsequious, you’re being a factotum in order to please him,” Tapper said. His kicker was, “And I think I’ve wasted enough of my viewers’ time. Thank you.”
