They never stopped believin’.
Holsten’s, an ice cream shop in Bloomfield, N.J., that served as the diner setting for the final scene of The Sopranos, was overflowing with James Gandolfini fans Wednesday night after news spread that the actor had died in Italy at age 51.
The photo was posted by gossip blogger Naughty But Nice Rob.
The scene, which originally aired in June 2007, was a tense family dinner set to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” that cut abruptly to black — frustrating many fans who wanted some definitive closure on Tony Soprano’s fate.
The table the Sopranos sat at sits empty, however: A reserved sign was put there in Gandolfini’s memory.
