With a bill including superstars Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson and reportedly, Beyonce, the Michael Jackson Tribute concert will be short at least one iconic pop singer — his sister, Janet Jackson.
PHOTOS: Hollywood’s Notable Deaths
The Jackson family has been split on their support of the October show, with brothers Jermaine and Randy Jackson voicing their opposition to the timing. The concert is scheduled to occur in the middle of Dr. Conrad Murray’s U.S. trial, where he is charged with Michael’s death.
“Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me,” Janet told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement.

“We want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family,” Jermaine and Randy earlier stated. “While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael’s death.”
“Michael Jackson: The Tribute Concert” will feature Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo and JLS. Members of the Jackson clan, including several brothers, “the next generation of Jacksons,” and Tito Jackson’s three sons, dubbed 3T, will also perform. The show is set for the 75,000-seat Wales’ Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Great Britain on Oct. 8.
