Jason Sudeikis and Rose Byrne will star in the romantic comedy Tumbledown, which Sean Mewshaw is directing from an original screenplay by Desi Van Til.
Olivia Munn, Joe Manganiello, Blythe Danner, Michael McKean and Beau Bridges also will star in the film.
Byrne will play a young widow who falls for a New York writer, played by Sudeikis. He comes to her hometown in rural Maine to investigate the death of her husband, a folk singer.
The production, which will begin filming in October in Vancouver, will be produced by Kristin Hahn of Indigo Films and Aaron L. Gilbert and Margot Hand of Bron Studios.
Mewshaw and Van Til, who are managed by Anonymous Content, are making their feature directing and screenwriting debuts. They collaborated on the short film Last Night, based on a James Salter story and starring Frances McDormand, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Van Til is now writing a comedy script for Warners called Married Off that is based on an original pitch.
Sudeikis, a regular on Saturday Night Live, stars opposite Jennifer Aniston in the upcoming We’re the Millers.
Byrne, whose credits include Bridesmaids and the TV series Damages, will soon be seen in I Give It a Year and The Internship.
CAA packaged Tumbledown and will rep its North American rights.
