Jaws is ready to attack once again.
Steven Spielberg‘s breakout film is returning in a limited release to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Fathom Events will screen Jaws on Sunday, June 21, and Wednesday, June 24, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time in theaters around the country. The screenings will feature an introduction from TCM Weekend Daytime host Ben Mankiewicz.
Jaws is credited with inventing the summer blockbuster, and set the record at the time for the highest grossing film ever. A group of industry voters ranked it Hollywood’s No. 24 favorite film last year.
The shark attack film, which starred Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss, cost just $9 million to make and grossed nearly that much in its first weekend. It later accumulated more than $460 million worldwide.
