After nearly two decades in the rap game, Jay-Z is changing his tune.
In a new poem, obtained by NME, the first-time dad promises his daughter that the term “Bitch” will no longer be found in any of his raps.

“Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich/I didn’t think hard about using the word bitch/I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it/Now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it,” he wrote.
“No man will degrade her, or call her name,” Hov continued. “I’m so focused on your future, the degradation has passed. I wish you wealth, health and insight. Forever young you may pass. Blue Ivy Carter, my angel.”

The poem comes following his latest rap titled “Glory,” in which the newborn’s cries and coos are prominently featured. Credited as B.I.C., Blue Ivy became the youngest artist to ever be credited on the Billboard Hot 100 with the release. The track entered the chart at No. 74 after being posted on Jay-Z’s social website, Life + Times.
