Former Paramount executive vp Lindsey Bayman is joining Studio 8 to run business affairs. At Paramount, Bayman helped oversee franchises including Transformers, G.I. Former Paramount Pictures Worldwide president of feature production Mark Bakshi joins Studio 8 to oversee physical production and report directly to Robinov. Most recently Bakshi served as executive producer on Foxcatcher, World War Z and Moneyball. He had a 14-year career at Paramount Pictures, where he oversaw all live-action and animated theatrical releases.
Visual effects veteran Kimberly LoCascio is also joining the new venture to oversee all aspects of visual effects, postproduction and 3D, reporting directly to Robinov. LoCascio previously held posts as senior vp overseeing VFX & 3D at Legendary Pictures shepherding such films as Godzilla, Pacific Rim and 42, and at Paramount Pictures where she oversaw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Star Trek.
Robinov’s company — funded in partnership with Sony and the Chinese investment management firm Fosun Group — which will distribute up to six films worldwide annually, previously hired Robert Brassel, Jon Silk and Chris Goldberg.
