DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg is set to host Hillary Clinton at a dinner fundraiser in Los Angeles shortly before the midterm elections in November, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The fundraiser, benefiting the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, will be held on Oct. 20 at a to-be-determined location, a source says. Politico first reported the news on Friday.
In addition to raising funds for Democratic candidates, Katzenberg’s event, which is being co-hosted by longtime Clintonite Casey Wasserman, serves as a prelude to Clinton’s expected entry into the 2016 presidential race. Hillary supporters have been ramping up their efforts recently in Hollywood.

On Sept. 21, the Ready for Hillary super PAC held an event for more than 70 supporters at the Pacific Palisades home of producer Howard Gordon and wife Cambria. Attendees included producer Ryan Murphy and husband David Miller, Fox’s Dana Walden, screenwriter Billy Ray and former Fox president Gail Berman.
Katzenberg was early to signal support for a Clinton 2016 bid, the exec gave his personal assurance of support to the former secretary of state during a phone call early last year, as THR reported in October 2013.
The studio chief also said he would mobilize his political team to raise money independently for her bid through the super PAC Priorities USA.
Katzenberg’s political advisor, Andy Spahn, is organizing the Oct. 20 dinner, with the location and additional co-hosts to be named soon.
