The Oscar-nominated actress was officially cast as the title character, Katniss Everdeen, of the feature adaptation of the popular Suzanne Collins' novels on March 17.
"Jennifer's just an incredible actress. So powerful, vulnerable, beautiful, unforgiving and brave. I never thought we'd find somebody this perfect for the role," Collins said of Lawrence. Rumors of Lawrence's casting floated around Hollywood days before it was made official but during that time, negotiations or an offer had taken place.
