Glen Basner‘s FilmNation is financing the film, to be directed by Susanne Bier, and will represent foreign rights. CAA packaged the project and will handle the film domestically.
Rules of Inheritance reunites Lawrence with her Silver Linings Playbook producer Bruce Cohen. Abi Morgan will write the adapted script.

Smith was an only child, who, over a seven-year period as a young adult, lost both her parents to cancer. While struggling to cope, she propels herself into many romances, adventures and travels in an inspirational, emotionally charged and surprisingly humorous journey that celebrates life, the people we love and lose and the discoveries we make along the way.
