Was the writing on the wall?
Jennifer Lopez may have hinted about an impending divorce from Marc Anthony in her new album, Love?.
In “One Love,” Lopez says her “number four” love (she was married twice before and engaged to Ben Affleck) “sang to me” — which is one of Anthony’s biggest hits — “but I’m not sure… So word out, but… made me wanna try once more.”
In “Starting Over,” she refers to “my man” as a “dog” and a “player,” as MSNBC and People point out. Lyrics also include “these dreams falling apart at the seams” and “All his secrets, all his lies. I just keep pushing ’em out of my mind.”
The song was not written by Lopez. It was co-written and co-produced by Wynter Godon, Nathaniel Mills and Marcella Araica.
Lopez and Anthony announced they were divorcing after seven years of marriage on Friday.
“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters,” the couple said in a statement. “It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
They are parents to twins, Max and Emme, 3.
Anthony and Lopez will still work together on their Latin talent show, Q’Viva.
“The show goes on,” a representative for XIX Entertainment tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Q’Viva!, the hotly anticipated 2012 celebration of Latin music, artistry and dance, is set to film this autumn in South America with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony as previously announced.”
