Update: Jeremy Lin has put his book plans on hold.
Jeremy Lin has hired well-known book agent Richard Abate of 3 Arts Entertainment to explore a possible book deal, likely a memoir, according to a report in Forbes.

Abate’s sterling client list includes such Hollywood figures as James Franco, Tina Fey, Law & Order creator Dick Wolf, Mindy Kaling and Homeland producer Howard Gordon.
Details about what Lin would write about remain scarce, but publishers nonetheless seem eager to pony up money for the rookie sensation who has led the Knicks to seven straight wins since entering the starting lineup two weeks ago. Publishing insiders speculate Lin could score an advance in the $500,000-$1 million range — a figure that could exceed his NBA-minimum $610,000 salary.
Some see Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, another straight-laced religious over-achiever, as a model for Lin. His book, Though My Eyes, spent two months on USA Today‘s best-seller list. Other publishing insiders worried that because he’s only 23, he might not have enough material for a full book.
Still, the biggest concern publishers had was that Linsanity would cool off before a book could hit the shelves. “Who knows what the world’s going to be like a year from now?” said Jonathan Segal, an editor at Alfred A. Knopf.
