Jeremy Renner Kill the Messenger Premiere H 2014
Donald Traill/Invision/APJeremy Renner didn’t stop while he was ahead, unapologetically rehashing his infamous Black Widow “slut” joke on Conan on Monday night.
“Mind you, we are talking about a fictional character and fictional behavior, Conan,” Renner said, “but if you slept with four of the six Avengers, no matter how much fun you had, you’d be a slut. Just saying. I’d be a slut. Just saying.”
Renner found himself in hot water last month when he initially made the off-color joke during the Avengers: Age of Ultron press tour.
Asked by a reporter about Black Widow’s relationships with various members of the Avengers, Renner said, “She’s a slut.” This prompted Chris Evans, who was also present, to add, “I was going to say something along that line, she’s a complete whore. … She’ll flirt with everybody, leading everybody on.”
Renner and Evans later apologized. “I am sorry that this tasteless joke about a fictional character offended anyone,” Renner said. “It was not meant to be serious in any way. Just poking fun during an exhausting and tedious press tour.”
