NEW YORK — Jerry Seinfeld has added a special Long Island show to his New York area touring schedule, with all income from that performance, as well as previously sold-out upcoming engagements in Brooklyn and Staten Island, to go to Hurricane Sandy relief.
“I grew up on Long Island, and New York City is home,” said the comedian. “This is a tough time for this area, and we’re just glad to be able to help in the recovery.”
In addition to Seinfeld, former Saturday Night Live regular Colin Quinn, who serves as opening act on the tour, will donate all proceeds to local organizations providing relief to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The two standup veterans previously collaborated on Quinn’s solo show Long Story Short, which Seinfeld directed on Broadway in 2010.
The additional show is set for Dec. 19 at NYCB Theater in Westbury, Long Island. The tour plays the Walt Whitman Theater in Brooklyn on Nov. 8 and the St. George Theater in Staten Island on Dec. 6.
