Jesse James and Kat Von D have called off their engagement, People reported.
James told People that the break-up was caused by the distance between the two reality stars: The tattoo artist shoots her reality show, TLC’s L.A. Ink, in Los Angeles, while he lives outside of Austin, Texas.

“I’m so sad because I really love her,” James said. “The distance between us was just too much.”
The two started dating last summer and became engaged in January. They were planning a summer wedding.
Von D confirmed the split via her Twitter account.
“I am no longer w Jesse and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I’d like to share,” she wrote. “Thanks for respecting that.

James, best known for Discovery Channel’s Monster Garage, made headlines last year when reports of his infidelity led to his divorce from Sandra Bullock.
He was married two previous times: first to Karla James and later to adult film star Janine Lindemuder. He has three children — Chandler, 16, Jesse Jr., 14, and Sunny, 7 — from those two marriages.
James also has hosted Spike TV’s Jesse James Is a Dead Man and competed on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.
